We are finding that as there are more deployments and the AI gets used to more environments and cat markings, the system is generalising very well on the whole. If you are in the minority and receiving false positives, please be rest assured these are being reviewed and will reduce in time.
We plan on having the ability to manually flag events for review; however we currently manually review every Contraband Detected event to verify it’s correctness, and in the event of false positives, add these to the training examples, so as the system learns over time – these will get much rarer.
If you’ve had your OnlyCat for a few weeks/months, you may wish to check the image clarity of events. If your camera lens is fairly dirty, this will reduce the accuracy of the system. You may wish to wipe it with a damp cotton bud or microfibre cloth.
Whilst such events are very rare (at the time of writing we have a 99.4% prey detection accuracy), such rare instances may still occur.
We plan on having the ability to manually flag events for review; however in the interim please reach out to us sharing the specific event in question.

On very rare occasions (<1%), some cats may figure out that if they drop the prey, show a clear mouth, go inside, and then retrieve the prey from the inside – they may be able to bring prey in.
Likewise, on occasion cats may drop the prey in the tunnel, show a clear face, and as they’re going in, their bodies may (typically accidentally) drag the prey in. Again, such cases are very rare.
If this happens once, this may have been a coincidence. Most cats will not correlate such events from one occurrence. If this happens twice in the span of a few weeks – please reach out to us and we can setup some customisations such as extended lockout times and/or sound deterrents.
