Glass Installation

Note: OnlyCat® is ideal for mounting single or double-glazed windows. If you need to have a hole cut in a window, please ask a qualified glazer to do it, as cutting glass is a skilled job. If you need to get a hole cut in your hole, a circular hole with a diameter 212mm (8 ⅜”) is the ideal size. A mounting adapter is available to complete an installation in glass and is suitable for covering holes from 210mm (8 ¼”) to 260mm (10 ¼”) in diameter. If an adaptor larger than 260mm is required, please reach out to our OnlyCat® team and we will try to provide support.

1. Cut out the hole

A circular hole 212mm in diameter is required to accommodate the tunnel.

2. Apply the sealant

We recommend running a bead of ‘All Weather Sealant’ around the edge of the hole on both sides of the glass. The sealant will help secure the cat flap in place after installation and help to prevent moisture getting in from the outside.

3. Attach first adaptor

A) Slide one of the mounting adaptor rings over the main body (sealant facing the correct way).

B) Then from inside the house, slide the tunnel of the main body through the hole in the glass.

4. Attach second adaptor

From the outside, mount the second part of the mounting adaptor and the external frame.

5. Assemble unit

Screw the two halves together. If mounting in a single pane, use the shortest of the screws.

A double-glazed panel may require the mid-sized screw depending on its thickness.

Then align the white screw caps with the slots pointing inwards, then push firmly into place.

6. Admire

From the inside, you will now see your cat’s stylish new entrance.

  1. Hi, Jonathan.

The 44mm width won’t be a problem. It will need a new triple glazed panel fitted with the recommended 212mm circular cutout – which will be a reasonably standard request for a glazier.

  2. Note that you have to be careful when screwing Step 7.
with a previous cat flap, I screwed it too tightly and cracked the window…
